The dog days of summer have really been hot this year, even hotter than I can remember in the past. This brutal weather keeps the fish in deeper water and off the flats for the most part. Its tough fishing right now and a day in the Florida sun seems as long as a week. However there is some good news… giant schools of red-fish are moving into Tampa Bay every day and staging up on deeper flats for a few weeks before they break up and invade the pot holes and mangrove lines. With the amount of redfish schools right now it is setting up for an awesome Redfish-October. We are using Hogy Swimbaits rigged on a weedless Eagle Claw Trokar Swimbait Hook to make long cast to the spooky schools.
